Bio

Angelina Yin is a designer from Beijing, China, where growing up surrounded by machinery and engineered systems planted a lasting fascination with technology that has since defined her aesthetic. Her work carries a futuristic sensibility, favoring precise, architectural silhouettes that feel closer to tomorrow than today. Drawn to the social dynamics she observes, she believes design holds real power: not to divide, but to unite and provoke shared reflection. She designs for a future that hasn't arrived yet, shaped by questions worth asking now.

Thesis Statement

The___Resume is a thesis collection centered around the relationship between professional identity and the self. Inspired by the growing anxiety of a generation navigating job markets, career pivots, and the pressure to define themselves through what they do, the collection asks a simpler question: what if your job title didn't have to mean so much? Through the creation of fictional, exaggerated workplace archetypes, roles designed purely for the performance of being employed to chaos, the work uses satire to create distance from a subject that has become suffocating. The work does not ask to want less. It asks to be more. By treating professional identity as costume rather than character, the collection proposes that who we are extends far beyond our titles and our LinkedIn profiles. The blank is intentional. It belongs to the viewer, to fill with whatever they choose to put there. What does your resume say about you, and more importantly, does it have to?
