Athena Li

The unease of emotional traces within memory settling is what drives the work of Athena Li. For her, the intention of creating work that becomes physical sites of remembrance, and the residue of an evolving essence, overpowers the need to resolve emotional clarity. Through this process, garments begin to explore the tension between what is remembered and what is felt in the present moment. She navigates fabric through touch, where construction becomes the space in which these emotional traces are shaped and held.
