Ava Milan Perez is an interdisciplinary artist that works at the intersection of metal, jewelry, and modular garment designs. She advocates a design philosophy where garments are not just worn, but inhabited - a functional and cherished second skin that creates a bridge between the internal self and the external world. Her collections are not merely practical but profoundly conceptual, rooted in a continuous exploration of identity and interconnection, realized through intentionally oversized elongated silhouettes, dynamic use of metal and sheer materials, and her play on transmuted classic garments that interact with space and form. These garments are consciously designed to evolve, be imprinted on, and passed down resulting in a collaborative archive of life lived in motion.

In search of the familiar
For half a decade, my life has existed in a perpetual blur of entry and exit, a liminal grey where nothing settles, operating between parallel worlds that never meet. Drawstrings tighten and release: the friction of displacement, while metal carries the constant industrial pulse of New York. Soft fabrics recall a distant ease, grounding the body in familiar memories. These garments become a sanctuary of shared rhythms of adaptation, belonging, and collective life within the city.
