BFA AWARD: Portfolio Designer of the Year

I am a fashion designer attending Parsons School of Fashion, New York City who combines fashion design and fine art to present my work. Based on my experiences living in various places, I combine Eastern traditions with Western cultures, and I create modern and forward-looking designs by combining history and the future. Also, my collection includes the delicate fabric textile details, the utilization of colors, or the delicacy of illustrations.

TIE REBELLION

The tie has a phrase of rebellion,
The jacket has a crack in uniformity,
and The skirt has breath of freedom.
This womenswear collection draws inspiration from the rebellious subcultures of Teddy Girls and Sukeban, who reinterpreted uniforms to assert their identity and presence in society.By examining how uniforms regulate identity through institutional power, the collection challenges imposed conformity while embracing individuality within uniformity.Deconstructed tailoring, shrunken or oversized proportions, and printed text transform the tie, jacket, and skirt into symbols of resistance, exposing tension between discipline and freedom.

RESEARCH PROCESS

"This collection reveals the power structure through clothing, and at the same time rejects it."

It resembles a school uniform dress and shirt, but features a short dress with added jacket detailing, a layered shirt, and a unique tights pattern. The layering of velvet, leather, and cotton shirts creates a visually rebellious yet playful impression.

SECOND TIE REBELLION

Look 2

It looks like an honest girl with a shirt, pants, and a tie. But underneath it, a huge tie, short shirt length, contradictory long sleeves, finally, low-waist draped pants.

We’re slowly making a difference in it.
