Dayne Thompson
Bio
Dayne Thompson is a Black, queer, nonbinary designer, stylist, and repairman. They are from Los Angeles and are graduating from Parsons School of Design with a love of fashion, costumes, film Blackness, sustainability, and community care. They are graduating from the collection pathway but in previous years, they have participated in the Sustainable systems and materiality pathways. In their junior spring term they studied at Central Saint Martins in the knitwear pathway. They have always had a passion for reflecting the needs of their community within their work. This collection features: up-cycling, patchwork, dubied knitwork, natural dye, rust dye, waxing, and running around New York City finding all of their materials. Post grad, they are excited to pursue a career in costumes in film and theater in New York City and hope to connect with makers, designers, and collaborators in this field.
