With a refusal to wear color and a refusal to listen to you complain about it, Eddie Bolton designs for those interested in darkwear and uniform, with a special interest in military. As a Trans Man, Eddie designs with his community in mind.

Image: DUST TO DEFIANCE examines loss of boyhood through the lens of transmasculinity, the military, and labor movements. Inspired by 1940’s military and labor, the collection looks at the exploration of self transmasculine people experience when beginning medical transition, most notably through hypermasculine roles like the military and labor jobs. The collection aims to examine the link between young men entering military service and transmasculine individuals beginning medical transition when it comes to fitting societal roles.Designing for trans bodies is inherent in my work, as I design with hip minimization and a broader boxier silhouette in mind. The goal of the collection is to explore masculinity from the trans lens, which can be more playful. The shirts are cropped to fit the commonly shorter torso of transmasculine individuals, and pants are high waisted and baggier to minimize the appearance of the hips, which is often a source of discomfort for transmasculine people.
