In pieces here, In parts there

is a contemporary fashion collection exploring identity formed through migration, displacement, and reconstruction. Having moved repeatedly between India, the UK, and the United States, I have lived in a constant state of transition — never fully belonging to one place, yet carrying fragments of each. A line from Ocean Vuong, “only the future revisits the past,” helped me understand this experience: with every move, I returned to my past reshaped by new geographies.
This collection grows from that condition of living between places. It examines how movement leaves residue — layers, fragments, and overlaps that reconstruct the self.
Silk, wool, and denim represent the geographies that have shaped me, yet they are deliberately reassigned across silhouettes to challenge culturally coded textile conventions. Rather than reinforcing inherited associations, fabrics are repositioned to disrupt expectations embedded in both material and form.
Ultimately, the collection frames identity as something produced within a third space—formed not through fixed belonging, but through accumulation and recontextualization. What is carried, what is adapted, and what is newly assembled through movement becomes the foundation of becoming.
