Bio

BFA AWARD: Fashion Illustration Designer of the Year

Fin Bunting is a New York-based fashion designer who seeks out the clusters of undressed perfection in our world to create bodies of work conveying the wonders of beauty and the plethora of definitions that the term holds. Fin Bunting blends the undressed beauty of the mundane with divine elements of our natural world and its fantastical counterparts to showcase his optimistic vision of how surrendering to one’s individual idea of beauty influences the self and those surrounding.

Thesis Statement

Northern California demands freedom, ease, and a sense of serene indifference. How can these expansive forms and emotions be harnessed by the constrictive tendencies of gilded age fashion? How can gilded age fashions be torn apart and set free through the lens of the Northern Californian ecosystem? My question is: How can the most restrictive, constructed, and fragile sets of fashions and values find refuge and rebirth through an integration among the most natural and untouched oceans, hills, and skies of Northern California?
