Bio

Iris Wilde is a womenswear designer with a background in ceramic sculpture. Her work revolves around exploration through unconventional materials and often draws references from both literature and pop culture. She is interested in the connection between garment and sculpture, and aspires to create more questions than she began with.

Video: Inspired by Iris’ childhood memories of her mother’s love for exploration, and her mothers experience with a restrictive joint condition called EDS, Now Voyager emulates a moment caught in motion. Drawing design cues from transportational objects (a boat, a bicycle, and an airplane), her approach to accessibility lies in innovative closures and changes in patterning and construction. The desire to design a coat her mother can put on independently lies at the heart of the collection, a desire to seek and to find.
