Bio

Jingchao Zhen is a fashion designer from Beijing, based in New York and Los Angeles. She is a BFA Fashion Design student at Parsons School of Design. Her work begins with personal observations, often drawn from subtle and fleeting moments in everyday experience. She develops these impressions through a process of draping, allowing ideas to take shape directly on the body. Her practice focuses on building form through volume and structure, creating garments that carry a sense of tension and movement. Her thesis collection, The Half, continues this approach through an exploration of in-between states and unresolved forms. Her work remains rooted in an individual perspective while leaving space for recognition and resonance beyond the self.

The Half

A garment in the act of arriving. Forms press against fabric from the inside. Layers that disappear into the skin. Structures that hold without closing.

Everything is in motion. This collection captures the frame before it resolves — the moment held in slow.
