Playing with semi-fiction, Kacey paints a picture of familiar worlds to some and searingly real to others. Though her stories may appear tongue-in-cheek, the real brutality of the world she builds will punch you straight down. Her drive to surface truth and reveal human fallibility remains core to her practice.
Handmade and traditionally domestic forms of making, like knitting and quilting, serve as the foundation of Kacey's work, grounding her references of women's relationship to meaning and self.
