Keir Todaro

Keir Todaro is a menswear designer and writer whose work functions as an ongoing experiment around the limits of expression within heteronormative masculinity. He approaches design with a poetic sensibility, often employing rhetoric, both visual and verbal. His garments quietly lay the wearer’s own masculinity bare: uncertain, felt, and in process.

Rather than outright rejecting the masculine canon, Keir examines its undercurrents: self-imposed rules governing emotion, appearance, and behavior; fear of losing credibility with peers and partners; risk of social exile from established hierarchies.

He refuses to give up on masculinity, instead interrogating how it can be augmented – delicately, persistently, – until its limits are rendered irrelevant.
