Collection Statement

Take Care of Her Spirit was initially inspired by photographs of Lauren's grandparents taken in the 1960s and early 1970s in Southern California. She discovered them shortly after her grandmother passed away, and seeing how her grandfather captured her essence brought her back to life in a way she had never experienced before. The images made her nostalgic for a time she never lived through. She feels a similar pull when looking at other photos from that era—their youthful, carefree energy and sense of playfulness in both photography and film. This has led her to explore the idea of what it means to be a “free spirit,” and how that notion was expressed during that time. Her home in Southern California stays true to this feeling and so does this collection.
