Bio

Lily Dowley is a British fashion designer currently based in New York, returning to London after graduation, making clothes that feel like they carry a story.

Her graduate collection People, Pints & Prints starts exactly where you'd expect from someone who grew up in the UK: the pub. That familiar world of shared tables, sport on the telly, and pints with friends becomes the foundation for hand-printed womenswear that's warm, a little tongue in cheek and entirely handmade.

Every piece is built around slow craft — original surface printing on woven fabrics, garments made from leftover scraps, textures that invite you to look closer. The result is fashion that feels personal without taking itself too seriously.

People, Pints & Prints

People, Pints & Prints begins at the pub — that most British of institutions, where strangers become regulars, and regulars become known. Rooted in personal memory and the rituals of everyday togetherness, the collection translates the warmth of shared experience into womenswear that is hand-printed, handmade, and deeply felt. Every piece carries the mark of its making. Woven fabrics are transformed through original surface printing — drawn from photographs of friends, family, and sport — while a sustainable top built entirely from leftover fabric extends the collection's commitment to conscious, considered craft. Nothing here is accidental. Everything is chosen with care. The result is clothing that celebrates the ordinary as something worth holding onto — loud plaids, printed linen, scraps stitched together with intention. People, Pints & Prints is not about nostalgia for its own sake, but about finding in the familiar something genuinely new.

Image: Look 1 :Grey linen, oversized and relaxed, with a screen-printed top peeking through. Inspired by after-work drinks and the way a good night slowly undoes even the most put-together outfit.
Image: Look 2 :A screen-printed t-shirt layered under a tailcoat-inspired jacket in coated cotton, paired with hand-painted canvas culottes. Inspired by the colours and geometry of a pub's heritage plaid — bold, bright, and a little bit chaotic.
Image: Look 3:Open-weave cricket vest with red hand embroidery taken from a life drawing, paired with a sheer blue plaid dress. Inspired by the overlap between a sketchbook page and a finished garment.
