Bio

Working with material and cultural memory, Lulu reimagines early 19th-century Spanish dress through contemporary menswear. She develops surfaces that merge narrative imagery with texture and form through handwork, collage, illustration and print, often incorporating antique textiles. She works across garment construction and surface development, exploring how texture and fragility can coexist within structured forms.

Image: Los Manueles

Drawing from early 19th-century Majo and bullfighting dress, Los Manueles explores ideas of Spanish male dress and cultural preservation through the use of antique textiles.

Lace and damaged domestic fabrics are cut, reworked, and applied to menswear through screenprint and handwork, introducing softness into structured forms and shaping the image of a contemporary Majo.
