Zhanyan Lin
Bio
Zhanyan Lin is a fashion designer whose work is rooted in the observation of natural
force wind, water, light, and shadow, and their capacity to shape form without being
seen. Drawing on the documentary landscapes of Sébastião Salgado, she approaches
design as an act of translation: converting transient, invisible movement into material
presence. Her practice spans garment construction, surface development, and textile
experimentation, with a particular focus on how fabric can register energy, a bend, a
pull adrift, rather than simply enclose the body. Her designs investigate the moment
between stillness and motion, proposing the garment as a field in which force
becomes tangible.
MOTION without MOVEMENT
This project investigates the visual language of natural motion, not the static form but the force that shapes it.
