Bio

As an Indian ready-to-wear designer based in New York, my work is rooted in material exploration, treating fabric as both a site of experimentation and a record of making. I investigate the relationship between surface and structure, developing textiles that actively shape silhouette. Drawing from my connection to India, I reinterpret traditional techniques through a contemporary lens, with a focus on pattern, texture, and process.

Coalesce

A study in material and form, this collection explores the interplay between control and chaos. Textiles evolve through repetition and variation, framed by clean silhouettes that allow material, texture, and movement to take precedence.

Look 1 - Smocked Dress
A smocked bodycon dress developed using indigo print, creating a dense, textured surface. The elasticity of the smocking compresses and distorts the pattern, allowing it to shift with movement.

Look 2 - Block Dyed Slip Dress
A translucent slip dress featuring a blue and white square print created through block/clamp dyeing. The fluid silhouette allows the sheer fabric and shifting placement of the motifs to move naturally with the body.

Look 3 - Godet Insert Long Dress
A long godet dress in cream and brown, combining tonal contrast with structured volume. The interplay of color and form creates a gradual visual transition across the garment.

Look 4 - Inverse Block Set
A coordinated top and pant set featuring inverted block-dyed square motifs in blue and white. The structured repeat contrasts with the softness of the silhouette, creating a balance between order and disruption.

Look 5 - Kaftan Set
A silk velvet kaftan and pant set with extensive hand-dotting, where each mark is individually applied over hours of labor. The loose silhouette allows the irregular density of the dots to remain the focal point.

Look 6 - Bubble Hem Dress
A bubble hem dress in brown that explores volume through gathered construction. The silhouette holds its shape while maintaining softness, creating a contained, sculptural form.

Look 7 - Mini Ombré Godet Dress
An ombré godet mini dress transitioning from deep blue to white, emphasizing lightness and flow. The inserted godets create controlled volume, allowing the color gradient to expand through movement.
